The ability to "submit a property" is a core feature for users and serves as a vital revenue stream for your platform. Configuring this section correctly is essential. To set up the property submission process, navigate to Engine Settings > Settings > Payment and follow the steps outlined below:
Choose the payment gateways > Create package plans > Decide additional information
Currency Settings Choose from a variety of flexible currency codes and symbols to suit your needs, along with number formatting options (e.g., decimal points or thousand separators). These settings are available in the first section of the Payment tab.
Payment Gateways DirectoryEngine supports three widely used payment gateways: PayPal, 2Checkout, and Cash. You can enable the gateways you wish to offer and disable any that are not required.
Payment plans are pricing packages that users can select when submitting properties. Each plan defines the price, the duration a property will be displayed on your site, and the number of properties that can be posted.
Adding a New Payment Plan Provide the necessary details and click the Save button to create a plan:
SKU: Enter a unique identifier for the plan.
Plan Name: Assign a name to the payment plan.
Price: Set the cost of the plan.
Availability: Specify the number of days the plan remains active.
Number of Properties per Listing: Define how many properties a user can post with this plan.
Short Description: Add a brief overview of the plan.
Featured Place: Enable this option to mark properties posted under this plan as "featured."
• Limit free plan use: enter the max number of the free plans that user can choose in order to avoid the this feature overuse.
• Edit a payment plan You can also edit the created plans by clicking the Pen icon next to it.
Once these settings are complete, use the Payment Test Mode to verify functionality. Enabling this mode allows you to test the payment process without incurring charges.
Based on your configuration, users will see the payment system displayed when posting a listing.
In addition to the settings above, you can customize supplementary options for property submissions. Adjust these settings at Engine Settings > Settings > Content:
Maximum Number of Pictures in Gallery: Set the limit for images per property.
Maximum Number of Categories: Define how many categories a property can be assigned to.
Pending Post: Configure whether submissions require approval.
View Counter: Enable or disable the display of view counts.
Organize properties by creating categories in this section:
Creating a New Category:
Click the "Plus" symbol.
Enter a name for the category.
Select a color to represent the category.
Choose a symbol to identify it.
Adding Sub-Categories:
Click the "Plus" symbol under an existing category.
Follow the same steps as above to create a sub-category.
Deleting a Category: Remove an unwanted category by clicking the "X" symbol.
Reordering Categories: Drag categories into your preferred order.
Similarly, configure location categories to define where properties are situated:
Click the "Plus" symbol to add a new location, then press Enter.
Create sub-locations by clicking the "Plus" symbol next to a main location.
Rearrange locations by dragging them into the desired order.
Delete a location by clicking the "X" symbol if it’s no longer needed.
Note: These location settings are distinct from the property addresses submitted by users. Addresses are automatically mapped using Geolocation based on user input—no additional setup is required.
For a newly launched website, consider allowing free property submissions to attract traffic. To enable this, go to Engine Settings > Settings > Payment and activate the "Free to Submit Place" option. Once you’ve built a loyal user base, you can disable this feature and implement paid package plans as described above.
